Hotel. Do you really need that 5 star hotel when you are going away with friends? Just because we are going on holiday, it does not mean that we have to be going over the top. Check the cost of tours. Often you can get tour prices and other complete packages together at a better price than what they are locally. You might think it not the case, but because they are booked in advance, there might be a better price. You can always compare local and the price your travel agent is suggesting online.

Travel Coverage. You can arrange your own travel insurance online yourself. This may save you money instead of buying it from a travel agent. Cutting out the middle-man may mean the same coverage and a better price.

Local Cost. There are so many ways to get real information about your destination. Information that is from o real travellers like yourself. The Lonely Planet is famous for that, and can give you the true cost of a beer in a local bar or convenience store, for example.
