If you are looking to get abroad this year but you are on a tighter budget than usual you should consider camping holidays abroad. With the security of Spanish sun you can be sure that you holiday will not be ruined by torrential rain as is sometimes the case when camping in the United Kingdom.
Spain is a country that has been a favourite destination for many of Europe’s holiday makers for a number of decades. Their guaranteed sun, beautiful beaches, tasty food and welcoming attitude to tourism makes it easy to see why.
Flights from the UK are only a few hours to one of the Southern airports and there are plenty of campsites in a variety of different locations to choose from. If your perception of camping and outdoor living is one that reflects dull English weather and under equipped, muddy campsites then you will be in for a surprise when you take a look at what Spain has to offer.
Most of the campsites in Spain can be described as luxury, family oriented places which not only have camping facilities, but they also have caravans and small villas to rent. If you don’t like the thought of transporting and putting up you own tent in the hot Spanish sun fear not, it is common for most of the resorts to have pre-erected tents for hire.
Once you have arrived and moved in there is always plenty to do, if you enjoy adventurous bike rides, splashing around in a pool, playing in boats or simply relaxing around in the sun, Spanish camping resorts have it all to offer. Alternatively if you like to explore the countryside and enjoy looking around picturesque villages or sampling Tapas from an authentic restaurant there is the opportunity to do that also. Car hire is very cheap in Spain so transportation is not an issue for those who can drive.
There are lots of different locations to choose from in Spain, one of the favourite regions is southern Spain. The southern coastline of Spain has a wealth of idyllic towns and a number of interesting cities worth visiting. Malaga has a booming nightlife that will be an attraction for anyone who likes to enjoy a party, Almeria has plenty to offer in terms of restaurants and shopping and Cadiz has a access to some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Away from the hustle and bustle of the cities there is the Sierra Nevada National Park which presents a great opportunity for activities like hiking and trekking. Mountain biking is also an option here but if you especially like more active pursuits we suggest visiting during the early months of spring or during autumn when the temperatures are lower.
Finally for those with who want to experience a real sense of adventure; Morocco is only a boat ride away and so the chance of exploring a completely different culture is a cheap and viable option. Morocco is a North African country famed for its cooking, be sure to try some authentic dishes cooked in a Tagine.
